Well, in all truthiness- It'd be impossible for Aang's mom to be a nun/monk. Cause nuns and monks take vows of chasity :/ At least in western culture they do, I don't know about eastern monks and what not.

well no one is born a monk lol and yea as to the whole chastity thing, so there for if they all where monks... no procreation there for no new air nomads so lol ya
If they all took vows of chastity, no babies would be born, so the AN's would last exactly...one generation...

I like horses. Horses are good. They are also fun to draw, which is also good. They are also fun to rant about aimlessly, which is very good. Can I help you?
Monks, actually, have the tendency to be chaste. I know there's some kind of enlightening ritual that exempts a few important people from being celibate, but for the most part, nobody really gets into bed with each other.
Which is why I say, not all AN could have possibly been monks and nuns. They were nomadic, I imagine there would be people traveling the world, as well.
You don't need to be a monk to live a spiritual lifestyle.

I think they probably swore off lust/desire and unmarried secks and secks for anything other than TRUE LOVE OMG. I mean, the AN aren't strictly based off any one group. They probably had different laws to the monks Westerners are used to--that is to say, Christian monks, who did take vows of celibacy.
I dunno, I've never thought of the Air Nomads as celibate. Especially since, if Aang wasn't willing to give up his morals to save the world, he'd never go chasing after Katara like that. He's really not THAT selfish. x3

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
